RSM present a statistical look back at Scott Hend's dramatic play-off victory against Nacho Elvira at the weather affected Maybank Championship.
Australian Hend secured his third European Tour victory as he beat Elvira after the Spaniard had forced an extra hole with a 30 foot putt following a rain delay.
Hend's three victories have all come in Asia and it has taken him to ten victories on the continent in European Tour or Asian Tour events.
His first European Tour win came in Hong Kong in 2014, and since then he has claimed three second place finishes, all in events which have been co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
And Hend secured a first European Tour win since the 2016 True Thailand Classic with a superb performance in Kuala Lumpur.
Nobody gained more shots over the week than Hend's 14.6, with his 25 birdies ranking first among all competitors. Of those 25, six came in the final round, with five of them on the front nine.
Hend averaged 10.3 shots gained from tee to green, ranking him seventh in the field. And his 1.68 putts per green-in-regulation was the fifth best total of the week, while he made 78% of greens in regulation as he clinched victory to move into the top ten of the 2019 Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex.
