Defending champion Shubhankar Sharma leads the field at the fourth edition of the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur.

The Indian sealed a superb victory with a stunning final round 62 to claim his second European Tour crown at Saujana Golf & Country Club last year, pipping Jorge Campillo by two shots to the title.

Sharma will get his defence under way at the tenth hole alongside four time Major champion Ernie Els and Japan's Ryo Ishikawa at 8.20am. Campillo starts 15 minutes earlier with Italian Andrea Pavan and India's Khalin H Joshi.

Three time European Tour winner Thomas Pieters starts on the back nine at 8.00am, in the company of Australia's Marcus Fraser and Thai Poom Saksansin, while Ross Fisher begins at 12.45pm alongside Canadian Richard T. Lee and American Julian Suri.

Last week's winner at the Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa, Guido Migliozzi, begins on the back nine five minutes later with Scotland's and Stephen Gallacher and Thai player Tirawat Kaewsiribandit.

Three time Major champion Padraig Harrington starts at 1.05pm and will be joined by home favourite Gavin Green and American Kurt Kitayama, who has already claimed two European Tour titles this season.

Europe’s winning captain from the 2018 Ryder Cup, Thomas Bjørn, starts on the back nine at 8.30am, playing with Indian Gaganjeet Bhullar and Thai Jazz Janewattananond, while Chris Wood is with another home favourite Ben Leong and Brazilian Adilson da Silva at 1.35pm.
