January was a busy month on the European Tour. From the EurAsia Cup in Malaysia, to Chris Paisley's maiden victory in South Africa, to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, there was no shortage of headlines and great moments.
One of those great moments belonged to France's Alex Levy, who aced the fourth hole at Emirates Golf Club during the third round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. It was part of a seven-under par 65 that helped the 27 year old finish in the top five, his second straight top ten on Tour.
Levy's shot received over 55 per cent of fan votes for January's Shot of the Month, beating out competition from Jamie Donaldson, Matthew Southgate and Anirban Lahiri.
"It was perfect yardage for a little nine iron" Levy said. "I hit a perfect shot, straight at the flag, and I got lucky that it dropped as the green slopes hard from left to right. It was the perfect shot with the perfect pace and jumped-started what was a great round for me."
"There's lots of great shots every week on Tour so for the fans to vote mine as the Shot of the Month is very special. Thanks to everyone that voted. Hopefully I can have a few more great shots this year!"
